Most people know certain sports are more difficult than others. For example, basketball and football do not require the skill level that hockey and golf do. To be at a high skill level and play well, a golfer has be strong in certain parts of his or her game. Golfers can play their best golf, if they understand they need to be in good physical condition, have good mechanics, and have a strong mentality. To play golf well, a golfer needs be in good physical condition. Some golfers do not realize the sport takes a toll on the body. Walking long distances on different terrain, rapidly turning the body, and violently swinging at the ball can cause numerous health problems such as back and joint pain, and strained muscles. For this reason, regularly exercising and watching food intake is important. When I started to play golf, I did not understand this concept, and this resulted in an injury. My sophomore year of high school, I played in the district golf tournament. Walking eighteen holes in the heat of the sun quickly brings fatigue. On the thirteenth tee box, my turn to tee off came. I aimed at my target, got in my setup, and started my swing. On the downswing, my left shoulder began hurting. At impact, I strained my deltoid muscle. The rest of my round I struggled to perform well because my swing was hampered by the injury. When the season ended, I began to watch my food intake and e xercise more.
